O modelo de metrô de superfície para atender a demanda dos turistas que visitarão a cidade durante a Copa de 2014 será o tema central da audiência pública marcada para hoje (4) às 16h, no auditório da Universidade do Estado do Amazonas (UEA), na avenida Djalma Batista, 3578. Serão abordados temas como a expansão do sistema de transporte e a redução do tempo de deslocamento de passageiros.Durante a audiência pública será apresentado o projeto da empresa de consultoria Pricewaterhouse. A proposta pretende atender inicialmente 170 mil usuários/dia, podendo chegar a 300 mil/dia futuramente, a partir de investimentos adicionais.
Trânsito
A expectativa do projeto é a redução média de 45 minutos no deslocamento do usuário que parte da Cidade Nova em direção ao Centro, no eixo da avenida Constantino Nery, por exemplo. A previsão é que as obras do metrô nesse trajeto sejam finalizadas até 2013. Outro ponto, que vai do Largo da Matriz até o T1, Constantino Nery, deve ser concluído em 2014.
Metrô
O principal problema identificado pelos técnicos foi a existência dos lençóis freáticos do subsolo de Manaus, que praticamente inviabiliza o metrô de superfície devido a elevação dos custos. A solução encontrada para reestruturaro transporte coletivo da capital foi o estudo de um modelo de metrô de superficie.Foram convidados para a audiência representantes de órgãos e entidades de classes afins tanto na esfera estadual, municipal e federal, como Instituto de Proteção ao meio Ambiente (Ipaam), Ministério Público, Assembléia Legislativa, Câmara Municipal, Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Arquitetura, Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico (Ipham), além de associações de moradores, representação estudantil, de comércio e indústria. A audiência será aberta ao público.
Exigências
O projeto de metrô de superfície pretende atender as exigências impostas para a capital sediar a Copa de 2014 e prevê ainda o estrangulamento do atual sistema. Em julho foi realizada a primeira audiência pública para discutir o projetos Arena Multiuso da Copa.

Sou academico de Arquitetura e Urbanismo na Uninorte. fiquei felicissimo com o resultado da escolha da nossa cidade para sediar a copa de 2014, ainda mais com os beneficios que trará a cidade. a respeito do transporte..... sabemos que o nosso é um dos piores do país e que futuramente isso tende a piorar. o metrô de superficie é um ótimo meio de atenuar este problema, mas não é o sulficiente, para deixar os manauras livres do trânsito caótico que vivemos aqui... decorrente da pessima infra-estrutura da cidade.
